Harmonix and MTV Games today announced The Jimi Hendrix Experience’s classic album, Axis: Bold As Love, along with the new Jimi Hendrix single, “Valleys of Neptune” from the new album will be added next week to the Rock Band Music Store of downloadable content for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Wii™.

Debuting today is the Jimi Hendrix Messenger, JimiMessaging.com, an interactive messaging tool that enables new and experienced fans to send messages to friends and family from their front row seats at Jimi’s historic 1970 performance from the Isle of Wight Festival.

four decades after their original release dates, a testimony to the enduring

2010) – The March 5th stop on the Experience
Hendrix 2010 Tour was before a packed house at the Universal Amphitheater in Los Angeles. Just prior to the set of blazing performances by Billy Cox, Ernie Isley, Eric Johnson, Doyle Bramhall II, Los Lobos’ David Hidalgo and Cesar Rosas, Aerosmith’s Brad Whitford, Living Colour, Joe Satriani, Hubert Sumlin, Jonny Lang, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Double Trouble’s Chris Layton, a
special ceremony took place on stage that additionally underscored the
connection between the legacy of Jimi
Hendrix and generations of players who have come since his
passing.

The Experience Hendrix Tour got underway this past week in Santa Barbara, California. Among the artists featured are Joe Satriani, Jonny Lang, Eric Johnson, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Living Colour, Brad Whitford, Doyle Bramhall II, Sacred Steel featuring Robert Randolph, Ernie Isley, Double Trouble drummer Chris Layton, and bassist Billy Cox, who played with Hendrix in Band Of Gypsys.
