'Jimi Hendrix: Hear My Train A Comin'' Eddie Kramer and John Storyk Video Outtakes At PBS
Jimi Hendrix was one of the first artists to build his own recording studio. Electric Lady Studios, his state-of-the-art recording facility in Greenwich Village in New York City, was designed entirely to suit Hendrix, both in its technology and atmosphere.
In two outtakes from Jimi Hendrix: Hear My Train A Comin’, Eddie Kramer, Hendrix’s longtime sound engineer, and John Storyk, architect and acoustic designer for Electric Lady Studios, reveal the history of how the legendary studio at 52 West 8th Street came into being.
Join Eddie Kramer, plus the film’s director Bob Smeaton, producer John McDermott, and Jimi’s sister Janie Hendrix for a live Q&A on Twitter. Have a question for them? Ask it in the comments section here at PBS.org and join them Wednesday, October 30 at 9 pm EST/6 pm PST! You can follow the discussion under #HendrixPBS.
