LOS ANGELES (March 11, 2010) – The March 5th stop on the Experience Hendrix 2010 Tour was before a packed house at the Universal Amphitheater in Los Angeles. Just prior to the set of blazing performances by Billy Cox, Ernie Isley, Eric Johnson, Doyle Bramhall II, Los Lobos' David Hidalgo and Cesar Rosas, Aerosmith's Brad Whitford, Living Colour, Joe Satriani, Hubert Sumlin, Jonny Lang, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Double Trouble's Chris Layton, a special ceremony took place on stage that additionally underscored the connection between the legacy of Jimi Hendrix and generations of players who have come since his passing. Janie Hendrix, Experience Hendrix LLC chief executive officer, along with Fender Musical Instruments Corporation Vice President of Public Relations & Communications, Jason Padgitt, presented a brand new Fender® American Special Stratocaster® guitar, and G-DEC® 3 amplifier, along with a set of Dunlop Jimi Hendrix model foot pedals to the Silverlake Conservatory of Music (SCM) Director of Development, Bill White.  
 
The Conservatory, founded by Red Hot Chili Peppers' bassist, Flea, has a special relationship with Experience Hendrix in light of past bequeathals in support of its work in providing music education to inner city kids. Janie Hendrix noted, "We were delighted to use the occasion to continue our support of SCM's efforts to provide affordable music education to the community; their work is vital in light of the abdication in providing arts education by so many public school systems these days. It's something that we can say, without any doubt, that Jimi would have been especially pleased about."
